About this artwork
This painting is egg tempera on panel. I mix my own paint with fresh egg yolk, powdered pigment, and water. The paint is very thin and transparent so you can see the many layers of application. It is part of a series of 9 16x16" paintings I made in 2021 to all hang together in one grid - each a separate translation of the landscape but hung together they seek to give the feeling of being surrounded by and overwhelmed in the landscape.
