About this artwork
Partial Presence reflects on the experience of being connected while never fully occupying the centre. Three abstract forms exist in quiet relation to one another, suggesting moments of proximity, exchange and distance that remain unresolved.
The work considers how our relationships—with people, places and the systems we move within—shape our sense of belonging. Rather than offering a fixed narrative, it creates space for viewers to bring their own… experiences, recognising that connection is often partial, negotiated and continually evolving.
Painted in translucent layers of acrylic on clear-primed cotton canvas, the exposed surface remains an active part of the composition. The visible weave, softened edges and restrained palette contribute to a sense of quiet tension, allowing materiality and form to carry the emotional weight of the work.
