About this artwork
What is the meaning of L'une ?
It is a double meaning word. I found it appropriate for this series; in French it means "the one" (she), and "Lune" - moon.
It's a moody portraits series, where I want to express the fragility and beauty of the woman features, by trying to capture a moment, an impression. They seem reflexive, or day dreaming, or maybe slipping into a melancholic, undefined mood.
- mixed media (collage - colored glass pebbles, fabric,… a few real gemstones) and oil on canvas
- canvas, gallery-wrapped frame.
- the colours may look different on other devices/ screens
oil painting, original painting, mood, new figurative painting, portrait, study, figure painting, one of a kind art, texture, collage, Lily James, gemstones

« I'm a very creative person, so I just create! »
Catalin Ilinca is a painter and photographer based in Spain who has exhibited his works nationally and in China, Hungary, and Romania. While most of his art is expressed mainly through contemporary figuration based, he also delves into the lyrical abstract through landscapes. Painting in series, Ilinca says that there are no specific messages behind his compositions, only a genuine feeling. Of his artistic process, he describes it as being "overwhelmed and hypnotized by the beauty of creation".
