About this artwork
In this work, I sought to capture the ephemeral essence of nature with Indian ink, applied on paper. Inspired by Asian art and expressionism, I wanted to express resilience and delicacy through the twisted branches of a flowering tree, symbolizing beauty in perseverance. Each stroke, full of raw emotion, invites a reflection on the inner strength that unfolds even in the most adverse conditions. Along the water, over time...; a curious little duck…

« Through my work, I wonder about the mystery of artistic creation and the destiny of the living. »
Catherine Hoang is a painter and sculptor based in France whose works have been exhibited both nationally and in Japan. Her works are marked by human pathological anatomy, the sublime, the trivial, and the ephemeral nature of the human condition. Through her art, Hoang explores themes related to survival and life "in a constantly evolving universe." Her artistic approach is figurative or translates an allusive abstraction.
