About this artwork
In November 2019, i was diagnosed with WetAMD (Macular Degeneration). I was becoming color-blind and did not realize it till it cleared up around February or March after several months if injections. I had an especially difficult time recreating what I thought was a brown on a small tree in my painting "Sail Away With Me." In February 2020, one night after I had already cleaned up all my brushes, I looked at the painting from across the room and… realized the "brown" that I was trying to recreate on the left side of the painting in the leaves on the with still was not nearly as interesting or the same color as the one on the right. I walked right over to the painting and looked really closely at the little tree on the right and realized, IT WAS RED OVER GREEN. I had not been able to see that before the first three months of my right eye WetAMD injections..
