I painted Sailing into the Sunset intuitively from my many memories of sailing on the East Coast of North Carolina on the Outer Banks (OBX), Neuse River at Oriental, Pamlico Sound, Long Island Sound, off the Connecticut coastline, as well as at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
