About this artwork
Prisma is made of 5 different natural sands geometrically juxtaposed to produce a rhythm.
The sand is carefully glued with wooden glue on canvas and fixed with transparent matt varnish.
I am using this technic since more than 20 years and I can ensure its stability. Sand as a natural medium is reacting amazingly with the daylight but also with electric white warm lights.

Cecile Coiffard is an experienced artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States, China, England, and Germany. Creating with more than one hundred varieties of sand from all over the world, she enjoys the concept of building microcosms on canvases. In addition, Coiffard employs acrylics and explores with the interaction between solid sand and colored liquid.
