About this artwork
As a painter, my artwork is a vibrant and surreal composition that blends abstract and figurative elements. At the center stands a humanoid figure, outlined in bold, stylized shapes and patterns, merging into a colorful environment. I have adorned the figure with intricate dots and patterns in various colors, such as red, green, blue, black, and white.
Within the figure, I have embedded a large clover-like shape, along with motifs resembling animal… faces—specifically a cat and a dog—and organic textures that evoke the essence of plants or coral. The background features a beautiful transition from a bright pink lower half to a serene blue upper half, creating a dynamic contrast. Framing the painting are cactus-like plants with red flowers or buds, which contribute to the natural yet dreamlike atmosphere of the piece.
Through this artwork, I aim to evoke feelings of harmony and curiosity, combining a modern and whimsical style with both abstract and figurative imagery.
Charlotte Seuntjens, born in the Netherlands and now based in Spain, is a painter, theater maker, and conceptual artist with a background in fashion and theater design. She creates vivid, multi-layered abstract paintings using a blend of mixed media, with techniques inspired by music, travel, and her theatrical sensibility— each piece visually translating rhythms, harmonies, and lived experiences. Her expressive, graffiti-influenced style invites viewers into a world where emotions, imagination, and human connection are at the heart, evoking feelings of passion, freedom, and boundless creativity.
