Menacing clouds against the sky,
speech bubbles without words
whispering of the shame
of an unmarried woman.
Purgatory burns incessantly
searing blisters on the soft skin
of the fallen woman
who will forever remain fallen.
As she walks the streets
stinking stubbled mouths hiss.
Predators watch a wounded prey
while scratching their itches.
She turns… her head away
But she feels the dirty fingers pointing.
Black-edged nails poke
as filthy gazes glare.
When the weather suddenly shifts
the rain puts out the fire
and the black clouds in her head
drift away by themselves.
She tosses her hair down,
quickens her pace, faster and faster.
Her wings lift her up,
higher and higher.
She floats above all and everyone.
Below, the frogs hiss
with their greedy bulging eyes.
Let them kiss each other’s asses.
