‘Bathers’ was recently completed in June 2023. It was inspired by a Mediterranean holiday Chris took last year with her daughter in Barcelona. She was particularly impressed by the quality of light experienced there.… In this painting one of the two figures is painted in a looser, less literal style as if to evoke a sense of memory and the passing of time.
