About this artwork
This is an original oil painting by Chris Polunin. Created entirely en plein air, it depicts mountain chalets in the European Alps. The snowfall had been heavy and covered the roofs in beautifully thick snow. The scene was totally still apart from the occasional tumble of snow from the trees.
