About this artwork
CEHERE explores the mechanisms of visual détournement and collective memory through a work that intersects popular culture, urban art, and cinematic references. Created using mixed media on canvas board, the composition combines acrylic paint, acrylic ink, markers, and collage in a play of superimpositions where geometric patterns, textures, and transparencies construct a dense and dynamic visual space.
An iconic cartoon character is reinterpreted… with heightened expressiveness. Her tense gaze and almost aggressive attitude contrast with the rich graphic background, creating a tension between humor, derision, and confrontation. The text "YOU DUCK MY WIFE?" acts as a narrative trigger. By simply replacing one word, she transforms a now-classic line from film history into an absurd and offbeat phrase, where humor meets cultural reference. Signed on the back.
