I've taken a lot of photographs of churches, cathedrals, castles, and other magnificent human-made monuments. In "Maelstrom," the stained-glass windows come from locations in the Czech Republic (and perhaps some in France, too). I started with a kind of sepia treatment, which is nonetheless disturbed by random patches of color.
Like all my infographics, there is a 10 centimeter white margin.
I would like to point out that this is not an engraving… but a print on quality paper from computer work, as the information for this technique does not exist in the listing.
Throughout his 50-year artistic career, Christian Paboeuf uses both music and computer graphics, in a way strangely reminiscent of painting. He applies surrealist techniques, shaping his works from photographs to evoke impalpable emotions through color, perspective, and illusionistic paths. His art, marked by the omnipresence of skies and riddled with uncertainty, conveys the importance of journeying, questioning, and doubt, while suggesting that our quest for goals is less relevant than the path we take to get there.
