About this artwork
This painting was inspired by an Autumnal walk.
It was recently featured in my solo exhibition ‘Liberation Through Nature’ at Menier Gallery in London. The anonymous, isolated figure with no specific identity, is used to create mystery and curiosity and direct the viewer’s focus firmly on the figure’s relationship with the natural surroundings. I want to reflect a narrative of the mental dialogue between human and nature.
I hope this dialogue might… enhance the importance of our natural environment, our personal engagement with it and the benefits it can bring to our wellbeing.
