About this artwork
This work is part of an ongoing series inspired by a childhood journey to Ayiti (Haiti), the homeland of my mother. I was deeply marked by the vastness and contrasting realities of the territories scarred by the earthquake, yet still filled with intense life and energy
This large-scale work unfolds as an immersive landscape shaped by erosion, memory, and transformation.
The surface is built through the diffusion of natural pigments, creating layered… strata that resemble sediment, scars, and shifting terrain. The intense red saturates the space, evoking both vitality and rupture.
Developed through an experimental and process-based approach, the work embraces material reaction, and temporal transformation.
It reflects on ecological fragility and the emotional weight of landscapes marked by both life and destruction.

Christopher Prévot is an accomplished French painter who uses ink, natural pigments, recycled paper, and ceramics, drawing and painting from a multicultural background and fine art training in the prestigious : Central Saint Martins in London. And Les Beaux Arts de Paris. His works, rooted in process-based and ecological methods, employ monochrome palettes, layering, dilution, and organic materials to evoke atmospheric and contemplative landscapes.
