"Where We Stayed" tells the story of the traces of shared time. Two towels on the beach become a subtle reminder of encounters, closeness, and memories that extend far beyond a single summer day. The vibrant shades of blue and turquoise flow into one another like waves that come and go, while the memory remains.
The abstract composition combines the dynamism of the Atlantic with the tranquility of a moment one would most like to hold onto. It invites… the viewer to discover their own stories within the landscape and to fill the place with personal memories.
The inspiration for "Where We Stayed" came from memories of the beaches on Portugal's Atlantic coast. Viewed from a distance, sea, sand, and light merge into an abstract composition where the boundaries between landscape and emotion blur. The flowing acrylic paints follow their own dynamic – much like the tides that constantly reshape the beach.
