About this artwork
In this piece, I created a unique tension using acrylic paint, sand, and a white, textured surface. The contrasting stripes represent the balance between chaos and order.
The basis of the image is my work "First Love" from 1994 – a painting from a completely different creative phase. I painted over it eight times, then cut it into strips and attached them to a new canvas with upholstery tacks.
The layers of color in the stripes tell a story of… change, memory, and hidden energy. The work invites the viewer to pause and discover the different levels and traces of its creation.
