Most of Corran Brownlee's work is narrative-based. The Canadian artist, who has exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States and the United Kingdom, 'sets up' images for the viewer to easily interpret. Brownlee often creates using charcoal, as it makes him feel like 'an ancient human drawing stories on a cave wall'. He employs erasers to lift shapes out of areas that he's covered in charcoal.
