About this artwork
The Hidden Face explores identity as a layered construction, revealed and concealed at the same time. Using reclaimed denim as a central material, the series presents fragmented or partially obscured faces, where texture, stitching, and surface interventions replace direct expression.
Denim functions as a material-memory, carrying traces of wear, time, and personal history. The hidden or masked face becomes a symbol of inner tension, protection,… and transformation—what is shown versus what is withheld.
Through mixed media and tactile layering, the series reflects on vulnerability, censorship, and the quiet strength found in concealment.
