About this artwork
This work represents for me the fragile and essential beauty of life. I wanted to capture the vibrant energy of this bee with meticulous realism, while expressing its delicacy through the light strokes and subtle nuances of the oil. It invites contemplation, bringing an atmosphere of peace and respect for nature into your space.
Dan Liefooghe, a painter with an atypical background, combines his experience as a violin maker and as an assistant to Marcel Berlanger with a jazz musical practice. He uses oils and old violin varnishes on canvas, exploring abstract figurative as well as realism; his works incorporate food themes or printed circuit patterns and are accompanied by titles with messages. Through an approach inspired by phenomenology, he seeks to convey the subtlety of perception and the poetry of the appearance of phenomena, arousing curiosity and contemplation in the viewer.
