About this artwork
Here is my Alpine landscape with the Rig mountain seen from the side of Lake Zug during a train journey from Zurich to Lugano. This topic became a pretext for me to search for harmony between dominance and submission. The strong, hard mountain looks like a bird of prey with spread wings, and right below it gently ripples the surface of the water and the soft line of the grass and bushes-covered shore. The flowering bush is like a jewel contrasted…
with the rough surface of the mountain. I'm deeply inspired by Hans Emmenegger's and Ferdinand Hodler's paintings.
