About this artwork
This work is inspired by the oldest tree on Earth called Methuselah which is a 4,856-year-old (in 2025). Well rooted and with access to water, it grows stronger. The tree's crown is composed of shells, ammonites, and fossils, which, despite the passage of time, have not lost their color. The crown vibrates with deeply saturated, expressive colors, reminiscent of moving whales or a flock of butterflies. This painting is about how the passage of time… can mean many wrinkles on the surface, but also a blaze of color within. Creativity, increased vitality, the need to create, and inner stability can become more conscious with age. It depends only on us. So, I dedicate this painting to the Art itself, because Art means Life. This painting was exhibited at Art Bar Gallery, Grenada (Caribbean Island, September 2025) nad at Palazzo Albrizzi Capello in Venice (Contemporary Venice 24.X-6.XI.2025). Temporary not for sale, because is stationary exhibited in Venice until Oct. 22, 2025.
Dan Zyzniewski is a painter with a background in abstraction, poetry, and psychology, deeply influenced by music and dance. He uses expressive, thick oil paints—often applied alla prima and with a spatula—drawing inspiration from XXth century avant-garde, especially abstract expressionism and fauvism. His art is a visualized poem: vibrant, sculptural, and immersed in nature, psyche, and creation itself. His work conveys a profound emotional resonance, inviting viewers to experience the joy and raw energy of existence and creation.
