About this artwork
This vibrant abstract painting is a harmonious blend of colors and shapes that seeks to capture the beauty and energy of urban landscapes.
"Urban Flow" features a dynamic composition of rich blues, yellows, oranges, browns, and purples. The smooth yet visible brushwork, combined with a mix of organic curves and angular lines, creates a sense of movement and depth within the piece.
Inspired by the landscapes and architectural forms I saw while commuting… on the road, "Urban Flow" is a painted memory of those journeys. Through color blocking and varying paint thickness, I aimed to evoke emotion and contemplation from the viewer.
Danette Newton, a seasoned artist armed with oil paints and acrylics, originates from a modest background. Her vibrant, geometric designs are interlaced with abstract, figural landscapes, produced free-hand demonstrating the beauty in natural imperfections. Newton’s creations are a dynamic exploration of color relationships, and an empathetic ode to the perfectly flawed human condition.
