About this artwork
By applying charcoal to paper (200 g/m²), this work shows a horned person, who is deliberately left vague in his depiction, thus giving priority to the play between precise articulation and blurred suggestion. Charcoal is extremely well suited for this purpose, as it can be used to create extremely focused contrasts and also to carry out versatile smudging techniques. The charcoal particles were then treated with a fixative.

« The reflection takes place in retrospect, - about what has influenced me to create a certain drawing at a given time. »
Daniel Dwyer, an aspiring artist, has been fascinated by art and media such as comics, picture books and animated films, which primarily use hand-drawn techniques, since his early childhood. This passion is reflected in his current work. Using dynamic lines in ink and watercolor on paper, Dwyer creates silhouettes that gain vitality through accentuated coloring.
