The relief-like image is characterized by structure.
The works are inspired by old walls or house walls. You can often see messages on these, but due to the writing or age, they can no longer be deciphered or can only be partially deciphered.
The texts or text fragments, together with the many structures and traces on the pictures, are intended to create this tension. The works… are like landscapes in which one can always discover or decipher something new. They should invite you to look at them from up close and from afar again and again. The texts are spontaneous thoughts or poetic, literary fragments that emerge while working on the picture.
The canvas is stretched over a stretcher frame and can be hung up directly (but can also be framed).
The painting is signed on the front and back.

Daniel Soukup is a Swiss painter and photographer whose art has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. As his works are reflections on life and death, as well as the traces that humans leave behind, Soukup is fascinated by old ruins and anything of historical significance. His relief-like and abstract paintings are characterized by structure and layering. Using mixed techniques, he works with varying materials such as ash, earth, rust, sand, glue and paint.
