« "I am fascinated and inspired by weathered walls, old walls, rocks, ruins and structures. They are like landscapes that can be viewed from near and far. They tell stories and are history." »
Daniel Soukup is a Swiss painter and photographer whose art has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. As his works are reflections on life and death, as well as the traces that humans leave behind, Soukup is fascinated by old ruins and anything of historical significance. His relief-like and abstract paintings are characterized by structure and layering. Using mixed techniques, he works with varying materials such as ash, earth, rust, sand, glue and paint.
