About this artwork
The portrait of John Lennon contains a powerful message of unity and inner strength.
In the words that John wrote to his wife Yoko Ono on May 27, 1979 there is his poetic testament, which urges humanity to take back the reins of its destiny.
The portrait is made with acrylic colours, with resin inserts (like the glasses) which make the work material. It is a celebration of collective power, inviting us to reflect on the impact of our actions and… thoughts.
Daniele Mazzoleni (Milan, 1970) is an Italian artist whose work combines personal memory, visual culture, and material experimentation. Growing up in Milan in the 1980s and 1990s, he developed a precocious affinity for painting. After studying architecture and a stint in business, he returned to art in 2004, embarking on a journey of research into materials and surfaces, including paint and resin. Founder of the Neroacciaio brand, he is experiencing a period of fusion between art, design, and craftsmanship, while maintaining the focus on manual processes. Over time, his poetics evolve towards a more essential and contemplative language. His most recent works, including “Tra la Perduta Gente” (2023) and “Quello che mi piace” (2025), define his current path, which he identifies with the concept of Human Pop.
