About this artwork
I wanted to show that there is always a way out of the endless race for survival, in which the consumer society has driven us. Conscious choice, responsibility for our decisions and actions open the way to the Light. We must return to a clean and sincere relationship, remember the immediacy and openness of children, allow ourselves to be happy, become above the desires of mass hypnosis.
I paint a series of artworks glorifying the Light, its purity… and strength. Each of these huge paintings symbolizes the hope for the best, the pursuit of the purest sources of our soul, the diverse and complex kindness and wisdom of this world. As a symbol of rebirth and hope,symbolizing a pure light stream flowing from the picture on the viewer.
By creating this series of paintings, I was inspired by the subtlety of color and emotion of William Turner, an wild expression of Jackson Pollock and wise expression of Anselm Kiefer.

Daria Bagrintseva, graduated from Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry - one of the most prestigious Russian art universities, is an experienced Russian-born painter whose work has featured in exhibitions, publications, and collections in Russia, USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Cyprus, and India. She has been awarded numerous national and international art prizes notably the American Art Awards and Milan International Art Award. Additionally, her paintings were acquired by the State Russian Museum and the Museum of Russian Art.
In her work, Daria explores a range of themes, from nude to landscape, Art Deco to abstract. Her artistic aesthetic is marked by intense colors and a sense of lightness.
