« I like having raw material in my hands, feeling it in my fingers. »
Dario Moschetta is an experienced Italian painter and draftsman with international exposure. He composes works with a torn-up effect, intended to be reminiscent of weathered posters one finds in the street. While he mostly brings this effect to urban landscapes, he also creates portraits of ancient statues as well as contemporary, everyday people. His process includes gluing layers of printed paper on top of one another to achieve a photographic base, before tearing and scarring the surface with chisels and spatulas on a wooden frame.
