About this artwork
In crafting this piece, I channeled the raw, pulsating energy of our urban environment. I utilized water-soluble pigments acrylic, watercolor, and gouache to develop a layered, textured effect, reflecting the chaos and rhythm of city life. This painting embodies the rush of bridging moments and the fleeting blur of urban trains—its blurred lines and vibrant strokes convey movement and the ephemeral nature of daily commutes. It's designed to inject… a dynamic, thought-provoking presence into any space.
This work is part of the cycle "MATRIX OF STEEL - Berlin 2025"
David Antonides, a dynamic visual artist, has mastered the fields of painting, printmaking, and sculpting. Embracing the fluidity and unpredictability of watercolor on a monumental scale, he infuses Asian calligraphy's grace and de Kooning's verve into his urban landscapes. His artworks echo the eternal dance between the organic and inorganic, seeking harmony among the chaos of city life, a poignant reminder of our collective humanity, shadowed by a subliminal optimist undercurrent.
