Old Glory
This artwork features an American flag made of cardboard. The surface, marked by creases, tears, and areas of wear, gives the image an altered, almost vulnerable aesthetic. The instantly recognizable symbol appears to be subjected to the ravages of time, transport, and handling.
By appropriating the American flag through the use of cardboard, the artist questions the mechanisms of consumer society and the omnipresence of packaging in… our daily lives. The material, associated with the circulation of goods and logistical flows, becomes the support for a symbol of power, now weakened, revealing an economic world presented as solid but intrinsically unstable, like a colossus with feet of clay.
The work is part of a lineage with Pop Art through the appropriation of a popular and universal icon, here reinterpreted.

Having graduated from a higher art school, he obtained the National Diploma in Visual Arts (DNAP) in 2000 and the Higher National Diploma in Visual Expression (DNSEP) in 2002.
This training has enriched her artistic practice, which blends painting, graphic design, assemblage, and collage. Her work is primarily situated within the field of contemporary practice, with an approach that is intuitive, sensitive, and engaged.
