About this artwork
In “World Gone Wrong” the initial drawings were done with acid and patinating chemicals on zinc and bronze sheets, essentially making an etching before the event.
The photographs of this were then combined with other photos of pastel drawings which were degenerated and reclaimed, creating, sometimes unexpected results and files containing hundreds of coloured reference strips.
The printed image of this process was then printed onto thin japanese… paper together with an etching plate and finally a carborundum plate before being attached to a backing sheet using traditional Chine Collé.

David Dodsworth is a painter, draftsman, and printmaker based in the United Kingdom whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Russia and the United States. The inspirations for his distinctive works originate from nature, architecture, and geometric composition. However, Dodsworth feels that his love of music and its resonance, are best expressed abstractly. He combines intaglio and woodcutting printing processes with digital manipulation.
