About this artwork
This colorful tapestry centers on the thrill of the ultimate pursuit of victory, whether it be a game or real-world challenge, trial or tribulation. The dynamic shapes and colors appear to float and collide throughout the work and complement the theme by providing a multi-dimensional landscape. This painting involved a dynamic shift in painting techniques, as smaller brushes and unique painting methods were employed. The painting’s title references…
origami on a visual, multidimensional plane. Unique shapes were employed, from circles all the way up to 64-sided stars. The chromatic landscape symbolizes the advancement of the Maximalism movement, in which basic concepts already covered are expanded and pushed even further. New shapes are also employed, such as gradated particles, black-colored dynamic plasma wheels, etc.

« I have, over the years, evolved my style, or genre, into a space that blurs the line between figurative realism and the abstract. »
David Gaither is an award-winning American artist whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions in the United States and in London, Paris, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Japan and Dubai. His works explore subjects relating to mythology, history, science-fiction, etc. Driven by the conceptual, Gaither begins each piece in an almost architectural blue-print format, drawing shapes and patterns in a grid-like system. His artistic process is both lengthy and meticulous, sometimes taking months or years to complete a composition, resulting in "controlled chaos".
