About this artwork
"Homecoming" won the People's Choice Award at a show whose theme was 'Honoring Gaia". In the scene we see Gaia looking away from the observer, her head representing also the Earth itself. A child floats toward Gaia, and the artist as model also flies back home.
The accuracy of the depiction was attained by using the artist and the child as models for the finished piece. The additional photos section includes the photos that were taken of each… model in order to place the models into the final artwork. I (as the artist) climbed up on a ladder and had my photo taken from below at the desired angle. The child lay on a small table with legs and arms outstretched to prepare herself for flying through space in the final artwork.
