About this artwork
"Innocence" is a young female warrior bathing in the morning adjacent to rice fields. I am uncertain if she has just returned from battle and the red is the blood of her enemies, but in my eyes I see her as innocent. I imagine whatever has transpired is because her cause was just and that she retains all her honor.
The painting technique was to create the design using palette knife and single-edge razor blade in a palette knife-type application… of paint. After the knife work was completed the background pastel shades were applied using brushes.
