About this artwork
A long horizontal painting reminding of some Eastern scrolls, a mix of light, diluted colours and a strong black, almost as deep as Chinese Ink.
Contrasted, well balanced, with a subtle use of the void and a clear tension between stability and fragility, East and West plays with the feeling of destabilisation and might induce a light vertigo.
What is identity, where do I belong?
This is a painting on quality acid free paper made especially for painters.…
It is sold stretched on high quality cardboard and framed by a 2 cm deep white wooden frame.
Full details in pictures and video (from a painting stretched in a similar way)
« In the beginning, the mind is as blank as the canvas. Then the hands begin their dance, the heart chooses its colors, and the emotions their expression. »
Delphine Bernard is an artist based in France whose paintings have been widely exhibited in Singapore and Indonesia. She compares each of her compositions as being like a vision or a dream and characterizes her artistic process to being "shamanistic". Bernard creates intuitively, allowing her hands to "dance and play" with colors on the canvas. Her vibrant compositions are created using acrylics on canvas.
