About this artwork
“Summit Eclipse -4-” evokes the drama of shadowed peaks against a golden corona in lyrical abstraction. Deep indigos and blues form angular, rising forms suggesting mountain silhouettes, pierced by radiant yellows and ochres that suggest eclipsed light bursting forth. Subtle whites and greens add atmospheric depth. Painted with fluid acrylics and palette‑knife gestures, the surface remains smooth and transparent, emphasizing optical shimmer over…
texture. The work hints at cosmic tension and fleeting illumination, inviting contemplation of peaks in rare alignment.

« In the beginning, the mind is as blank as the canvas. Then the hands begin their dance, the heart chooses its colors, and the emotions their expression. »
Delphine Bernard is an artist based in France whose paintings have been widely exhibited in Singapore and Indonesia. She compares each of her compositions as being like a vision or a dream and characterizes her artistic process to being "shamanistic". Bernard creates intuitively, allowing her hands to "dance and play" with colors on the canvas. Her vibrant compositions are created using acrylics on canvas.
