Freely inspired by the sculpture of Ousmane Sow that Delphine Dessein met during her exhibition for Lille 2004.
The body, massive, sculptural, voluminous ... is highlighted by the instinctive features of the artist and the play of different brushes.
The artist deliberately used cardboard as a support in order to give a raw aspect to the whole and to have fun with the reliefs offered by the tearing of the cardboard in certain places.…
The canvas is very expressive and brings a lot of vitality! This effect is reinforced by the raw material used, which is cardboard! It brings a lot of depth and technique to the whole !!

Delphine Dessein is a painter and sculptor based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Belgium. She characterizes her art as being humanistic, portraying positivity which, "raises the being towards a blooming", as well as inspired by the spirit of freedom. Dessein's distinctive abstract and neo-figurative painterly compositions are most often created with acrylics on canvas.
