About this artwork
As a logical consequence, the computer improved rapidly, the screen became flat, the tower too, the wireless connection improved, this was the advent of the laptop.
I'm finishing high school and starting university, and my computer goes everywhere with me. The software programs are multiplying, along with the folders and files.
I discovered Illustrator and InDesign, I tinkered with blogs, I created, I printed, I downloaded movies, I saved my… photos... In short, it quickly became the control center of my life. And even more so when it became my work tool at the end of my studies.
In just a few years, this device, which I enjoy using and which allows me to connect with others and learn, has gradually become my constant companion. For better or for worse... because I'm slowly starting to fall into the trap of spending eight hours a day on my computer. For work, for personal life, it's there for everything, all the time.

Denis Verdier's work initially revolved around a recurring theme: flowering blue cacti rooted in antique vases. An outsider in the plant world, the cactus intrigues with its contrasting spines and flowers. Thanks to its anatomy, it is able to survive in hostile deserts. Thus, the artist identifies with its unique capacity for adaptation.
Coming from a background where art wasn't a given, Denis Verdier always felt out of step with established norms (as exemplified by antique vases). He found in the cactus an echo of his own journey: that of a being who adapts, evolves, and ultimately flourishes. The color blue, omnipresent in his work, brings a note of serenity. It represents a gentle adaptation in a noisy era.
Beyond his personal history, his works question the place of the human in a society under tension, wishing to highlight a nature that persists where technology overflows.
