About this artwork
"And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters."
This quote popped into my head as I looked at my finished work.
This painting was an experiment. I wanted to find out how I could combine two pouring techniques in one work and how I could technically realize the combination of both on the canvas.
All that remains to be said is that the operation was… successful and the picture is still alive.
Dennis Bätz, an artist specializing in acrylic pouring, only later followed his childhood calling to art. Through meticulous planning, he produces abstract works, magnificent in color, contrast, and composition. His art invites individual interpretation and brings a universe of ideas to life.
"It feels as if I am looking through a new pair of eyes and the world is revealing itself to me in a new light."
With these words, Dennis Bätz described his artistic career at his first solo exhibition in 2022, from monochrome, graphic works that shaped his work for decades, to colorful abstraction.
Consequently, the opening and subsequent exhibition were named "Color Frenzy".
Years of experimentation and refinement of technique followed, on the one hand, and on the other, the perpetual struggle for artistic expression, the soul of the work.
