About this artwork
A strong, intense and colorful painting, quite loaded in matter. An already old work, but which expresses well the very gestural style of the artist and the deep bubbling which underpins all his artistic creation for 20 years.
This painting, as shown in some additional visuals, can be viewed in many ways. It's up to the viewer to choose the one who touches them the most ...
« To arouse emotions, to try to glimpse the invisible, and to approach the shores of the infinite. »
Through abstract oil paintings, Denys Eustace explores a quest for meaning where philosophy and painting intertwine. His works, nourished by Taoist and Greco-Roman thought, question emptiness, infinity, and impermanence. He is not inspired by the canvases of the masters, but by their writings and research: his in-depth study of Kandinsky's Concerning the Spiritual in Art, for example, the questions posed by Klee and Mondrian, as well as the voices of Lao Tzu, Heraclitus, Pascal, and Shitao, guide his approach. A self-taught painter, he complemented his training with art history courses at the École du Louvre and by giving lectures. His work has been featured in around one hundred exhibitions, both in France and abroad. He lives and works between Paris and Normandy.
