About this artwork
Life is full of a myriad of relationships, some good, some bad, some long term, some short term, some meaningful, some meaningless but necessary, some colorful, some bland......etc. Connections are made and often disrupted. Some disrupted relationships are reconnected. This painting is a depiction of that ebb and flow, change and repetition of relationships through life. It is painted with oil paint and cold wax that is applied with unconventional… tools. Cold wax is a wonderful medium that adds texture and substance to oil paint. The wax helps advance the drying process and is applied thin to thick like oil paint as the layering process advances. Typically, no more than 50 percent cold wax is added to oil paint.
