About this artwork
A black, dense, almost telluric substance seems to emerge from the canvas like a primal force.
ROCHE is not simply looked at — it imposes itself, it is felt. The surface, worked in relief with a knife, evokes a mineral skin under tension, as if frozen in an ancient movement, between fusion and solidification.
The layers intertwine, collide, and overlap in a raw and instinctive style. In certain places, the light catches the material and reveals… "silvery" glimmers, as if the rock itself were breathing, capturing the glow of an inner fire. The blackness becomes deep, abyssal, absorbing the gaze in an almost vertigo-inducing silence.
At the center, a force seems to radiate, like a wave, a pulsation born from the heart of matter. The work evokes both a geological formation and a cosmic phenomenon — a contained explosion, an energy in perpetual mutation.
