About this artwork
Remaining calm while chaos seems to surround the soul is the place this painting came from. Internal reflection, meditation, deep breathing are just some of the practices that aid in the finding of and maintenance of inner peace. After experiencing a hectic and demanding period of work, I found that I needed to paint myself a reminder.

Dianna Cates Dunn is an American artist who describes herself as an abstract layerist. She believes that the creation of art and the viewing of art form a relationship. For Dunn, relationships are the essence of the human condition. Through the illumination of small emotions, intimate feelings, joyous hope and forsaken yearnings, her work strives to allow "tender memories to be stirred and inner connections to be made". She creates using acrylics and collage on canvas or wood.
