The word often refers to areas with a Spanish or Latin American background, such as cigars, tango, flamenco or bullfighting.
One of the first known lovers of cigars was Katharina the Great, who is said to have a fondness for Cuban cigars. In doing so, she refutes the idea that women, when they smoke, tend to turn to the mild specimens. Nowadays, women like Sharon Stone, Marlene Dietrich, Jodie Foster,… Demi Moore or Linda Evangelista are and were known to enjoy smoking a cigar every now and then (Wikipedia).
