About this artwork
Koroviev.
"He picked up a pack and, without looking, threw it in Nikanor Ivanovich's face.
- Well, if you don't want to be a beauty, which would be very beautiful, you don't have to be one."
Chapter 9, "Koroviev's Tricks"
"The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov.
In this piece, I poured raw emotion through acrylic on paper, blending abstract chaos with expressionist intensity. The interplay of black and white with splashes of red ignites… a fierce energy, evoking both turmoil and resilience. It’s a visual storm that invites you to feel the pulse of creation and destruction, perfect to awaken and energize any space with its passionate, untamed spirit.

Dmitriy Vasilenko, a painter educated at the V.A. Ptashinsky Art School No. 1 and now at Krasnodar Art School, works primarily with monotyping. He draws on classic literary themes, notably “The Master and Margarita,” infusing his art with dramatic contrasts of light, monochromatic palettes, and assertive lines. His expressive, associative style—employing elements of chance—sparks the viewer’s imagination. Vasilenko’s evocative images serve as a heartfelt invitation, bridging the gap between reality and a new dimension of feelings, evoking love of life and profound emotional experience.
