About this artwork
Frida
36cm x 38cm (14" x 15")
acrylic painting on canvas
All of Frida Kahlo's work can be outlined in one word — a self-portrait. For almost a lifetime, she portrayed herself and her experiences. Frida Kahlo remained despite the fact that 115 years have passed since her birth, interest in her personality and works still persists.
All of Frida's works are connected with the cultural tradition of her native Mexico. Frida loved to pose in bright floor-length… dresses, expensive jewelry and unusual hairstyles. In this unique image, she has become a real style icon.

Dmitry Spiros
Mexico
« I work on creating my own personal artistic language based on my perception of the world. »
Dmitry Spiros (b. 1971, Tashkent) is a painter based in Cancún, Mexico. Trained in classical easel painting, he developed a distinctive visual language built on palette-knife structures, chromatic tension, and layered surface construction.
While his earlier works were rooted in contemporary impressionism — including landscapes and light-driven compositions — his recent practice focuses primarily on the human figure. Within this body of work, Spiros operates through what he defines as Ornamental Expressionism.
In this approach, ornament is not decorative embellishment but structural force. Repetition, rhythmic pattern, and fragmentation become emotional architecture. Faces and figures emerge from dense painterly systems where color organizes presence and surface tension replaces anatomical precision.
His works are held in private collections across Europe, Japan, North America, and beyond.
