About this artwork
This abstract impressionist painting was inspired by the paintings of Edvard Munch. The tree is in isolation on a beach signifying man’s destruction of nature. The painting consists of acrylic splashes mixed with charcoal. The expanse of beach adds to the feeling of isolation, lethargy, and loneliness. Brush strokes are bold and colors are vivid. clearly visible. This artist used bold blocks of color to achieve a new spatial scene. There are underlying triangular, square, and oval shapes throughout this painting. The relationship of colors and forms in space is what is important in an impressionist painting. The layering of the acrylics produces a richness of the colors. The color intensity and simplicity of composition, makes a big impact without crowding the canvas.
