About this artwork
Her style is called Retro POP. She likes to play with perception and with luxury branding or logos.This new series is a set of 16 portraits in total in all different colors but always the female portrait facing left or right and the vintage bathing cap with KRUG champagne labels on it. What differs is only the background color. This one is inspired by the House of Gucci.

Dominique Steffens is attracted to street art and pop art, especially when it is imbued with humor, satire, and irony. Her abstract works are as minimalist as possible, which is why she developed a pointillism approach. Steffens aims to convert the smallest visual information necessary in order to represent an iconic image. A self-professed 'CAN artist', with crushed champagne cans she plays with the concept of luxury brands, pulling them down to a mundane level.
