This is a tricolour cyanotype built on custom halftones. It celebrates the timeless elegance of a Kazakh woman adorned in a traditional headdress characteristic of the Almaty region.
What sets this piece apart is the innovative use of halftone patterns (rastry) within a historical photographic process. Each of the three layers has been meticulously hand-coated and exposed to build a rich, textured image that plays with the viewer's perception.
